Discount outlets & clearance

Find bargains online from top UK brands & designers

Listed below are the official online outlets, clearance sales and eBay outlet stores for top UK brands and designers including Asos, Dyson, Kurt Geiger and Tesco.

Discount outlets sell mostly old stock or end-of-line products, often at a heavily reduced price. But while there are bargains to be had in these online outlets, you should always compare prices elsewhere to make sure the outlet store really is the cheapest place to buy.

Discounts on apparel, shoes and sporting goods, though we've spotted items cheaper elsewhere

If you go online to the Mountain Warehouse eBay outlet*, you can get discounts on clothing, shoes and sporting goods. We spotted some items with discounts of up to 60% off, but worryingly, we spotted several items that were much cheaper elsewhere, including on the regular Mountain Warehouse website.

For example, when we checked on Thursday 11 December, the Mountain Warehouse Ultra Jura Men's Heat Sealed Padded Jacket Warm Winter Coat (RRP £279.99) is listed as £212.99 on the eBay outlet, compared to £99.99 on its official website. This means you could get two jackets for the price of one via Mountain Warehouse and still have money leftover.

It's not just high-ticket items that are cheaper on the Mountain Warehouse website – a pair of unicorn earmuffs cost £13.99 on the outlet, but come in at £5.99 on the official site.

This is why you should always compare prices elsewhere to ensure you're getting the best possible deal – even when shopping at an outlet.

Free protection for all shopping!

There's a little-known piece of legislation that turns any credit card into a financial self-defence superhero. 'Section 75' of the Consumer Credit Act means your plastic must protect anything you buy for more than £100 for free, so if there's a problem or the company goes bust, you can still get your money back.
And although Section 75 doesn't apply to debit cards, there is something else to fall back on if you've paid using a debit card, or used a credit card for a purchase under £100. Known as Chargeback, this is part of banks' and card companies' internal rules and not a legal requirement. Read full details of Section 75 or Chargeback, plus how to claim, in our guides.
