Any day via the Pizza Express Club app, or get a code online

If you want to save some dough when eating out, get a pizza this deal...

Purchase one qualifying Pizza Express main (includes Classic and Leggera pizzas, salads and Al Forno dishes) and you can get another for £1 – it's valid when dining in at most Pizza Express restaurants, or when ordering click & collect or via Pizza Express Delivers.

It'll be the cheapest main that's reduced to £1. Romana pizzas are excluded from this £1 price point, though if you want one as part of the deal, it'll be £1.95 for the second main instead.

The offer's valid all day, every day (including weekends) until closing time on Sunday 12 July.

Prices vary across the UK, but Pizza Express told us you could save up to £16.25 with this deal.

Here's how to get the deal:

For members of the free Pizza Express Club loyalty scheme. Log in to the free Pizza Express Club app. You'll need to 'check-in' via the app at the restaurant and enter your table number when you get there. When you're ready to pay, select the offer in the app before paying.

For non-Club members. Go online to Pizza Express and enter your details (name and email address) to be sent a code. You'll need to show this to staff before paying your bill. A different code is needed per redemption, so for example if your group orders four pizzas, you need two codes.

Exclusions:

  • You can't use this deal alongside any other offers, apart from 'How Did We Dough' survey vouchers.

  • A few sites are excluded, including airport restaurants, Welcome Break sites (Fleet, Oxford, and South Mimms), and Pizza Express Live locations (you may want to check at Live locations as the offer is valid in the main restaurant section, but isn’t available in the 'Live' section, specifically this applies to Holborn, The Peasantry and Dean Street)

Note: A group service charge is automatically applied to tables of seven or more adults.

Lunchtime meal deal

Monday to Friday from 11.30am to 3pm

If you dine in at Pizza Express (find your nearest), or order through its website or app, you can get a pizza or salad plus a drink for £10 as part of its ‘Power Lunch’ offer. It’s available from 11.30am to 3pm, Monday to Friday.

You can order a Margherita, American, American Hot, La Reine, Fiorentina, Pomodoro or Pollo ad Astra pizza, a chicken Caesar salad, a goat’s cheese and beetroot Buddha bowl, or a vegan Buddha bowl. Drinks include a range of soft drinks, including iced tea, tea, and coffee.

Mains normally cost between £13.45 and £16.75, but this can differ depending on your location – so this is a decent saving of nearly one-third for most dishes, and you get a drink.

How to claim for dine-in:

  • Pizza Express Club members will need to apply the promotional offer to their bill within the free app (Android/iOS) to get this deal

  • Non-members will need to download a code from the Pizza Express website and show it to a staff member.

Codes can only be used once, but more than one code can be downloaded throughout the offer period.

How to claim for delivery or collection:

  • Select ‘Lunch’ then select ‘power lunch’ to choose qualifying items. Delivery and service fees will apply.

We asked Pizza Express for an end date to this deal, and we're waiting for it to come back to us. This deal usually pops up during term time, so typically isn't available during the school holidays.

While it’s a strong deal, it’s not quite as good as the chain’s ‘After School Club’ deal, which has a selection of mains for £5 on Monday to Friday from 3pm to 6pm. If you’re planning on having a later midweek lunch, it might be worth holding out for its £5 offer and ordering a tap water as your drink, or two mains for the same price (please eat responsibly).

This offer is valid at all Pizza Express restaurants, excluding Leadenhall Market, Bishopsgate, Haymarket, airport locations, Pizza Express Live music venues, or when ordering at Pizza Express supermarket pod concessions and Welcome Break. See full T&Cs.

It's available from 3pm to 5pm on Monday to Friday, and can be used when dining in (find your nearest) or when ordering delivery or collection through the Pizza Express website or app. This deal launched on Monday 13 April and we've only seen it on offer during term time, which means it isn't available during the school holidays.

How good is this deal? You can make a decent saving, especially as you can order multiple items from the £5 menu. A pizza, pasta or salad normally costs between £13 and £18 (varies by location), so you're getting up to 70% off these menu items, and about 30% to 40% off other eligible food.

MSE Jenny says: "We got three American pizzas and a cannelloni delivered for a fiver each, which would have added up to £65 at full price. It's great it's valid on Fridays too, for an end-of-week treat."

How to claim for dine-in:

How to claim for delivery or collection:

  • Get your 12-digit code from the Pizza Express website and apply it at checkout. It won't work through third-party services such as Just Eat, Uber Eats or Deliveroo.

One code will discount all eligible menu items to £5. Codes can only be used once, but you can download multiple codes if you want to get the deal on another day.

Pizza Express Club members

When you spend £10

If you're a Pizza Express Club member (it's free to sign up), you can get a free birthday treat when you spend £10 in one single order. What you'll get depends on what tier you are within the app:

  • Bronze tier members – a free dessert (these normally cost from £5.65)

  • Silver tier members – a free classic or Leggera pizza (these normally cost between £11 to £16)

  • Gold tier members – a free pizza (choose from Classic, Leggera or Romana) or a free bottle of wine or prosecco (wine or prosecco costs between £25 to £35) or four 330ml Peroni bottles or four soft drinks from its Soft Drink or Sparkles and Juices menu.

To claim this freebie, just find it in the 'rewards' section of the app and apply it to your bill.

The offer is valid all days of the week for six weeks from the first day of your birthday month. You can claim your free item when you dine in or place an order via collection or delivery.

You can redeem at all Pizza Express locations but excludes airports or when ordering in person at PizzaExpress pod locations.

Ongoing

Via Pizza Express Club app. £10 min spend

Fancy free doughballs every time you dine in at Pizza Express? All you need do is spend £10 or more on food or drinks, and download its Pizza Express Club app (available for free on Apple and Android) and you're automatically enrolled onto 'bronze' tier of rewards.

This means you can claim a free portion of dough balls (normally from £5.95) every time you dine in. There is a £10 minimum spend, but you can claim this any time of day from restaurant opening until closing time, any day of the week.

The tiers progress up to silver and gold which unlock further rewards such as free Romana pizza upgrades or free hot or soft drinks, but we reckon a free portion of dough balls is pretty decent as you can claim this each time you dine in.

This freebie is available at ALL Pizza Express locations but does exclude London Gatwick airport. This is only valid on the standard flavour of dough balls at bronze level, but if you reach silver or gold, you can choose from a selection of different flavoured doughballs.

Saturday to Thursday

With a Blue Light Card

At Pizza Express restaurants (find your nearest), show a Blue Light Card code any time Saturday to Thursday (some exclusions, see below) and you can get 20% off food when dining in. Pizza Express says your code will be valid for the whole table. It's valid on food only (not drinks), including kids' Piccolo meals.

To get the code, you need to hold a Blue Light Card (£4.99 for two years – see more info), and generate the 12-digit code from its website or via the app – you can't just show the card.

You can't use this 20% off deal alongside other discounts or set menus, except for Pizza Express' 'Goodwill' codes and 'How Did We Dough' survey vouchers. It's not valid on takeaway, delivery, and collection orders, and it can't be used on Fridays, bank holidays, Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, Easter Monday and Father's Day. The discount isn't available at airport restaurants or Pizza Express Live Music venues.

Ongoing

Includes starter, main, dessert, drink and activity pack

Kids can get a three-course meal, drink and activity pack for £8.50 when ordering the Piccolo menu at Pizza Express restaurants nationwide (find your nearest). This is an ongoing offer and is available all days of the week from restaurant opening time until closing.

With this deal, little ones can get a starter of doughballs, a main meal (of either pizza, pasta or salad), a dessert, a Bambinoccino drink and an activity pack. If kids prefer a different drink, they can choose from either milk (55p) or Cawston Press juice (£1.60), but this will cost extra. Gluten-free options are also available. Pizza Express told us that a kids' main meal on its own would normally cost £4.25, so with the additional items, we think this is a decent deal.

If you have the Pizza Express Club app (available for free on both the App Store and Google Play) and are on Gold level of rewards, you can get the kids' Piccolo menu for free on Mondays-Thursdays.

This offer is available when eating in and for delivery.

Pizza Express kids eat 'free'

When an adult buys a main

If you dine in at a Pizza Express restaurant (find your nearest), kids aged under 12 can get a free three-course meal (normally from £8.50 each) when you purchase an adult main meal during the Easter holidays.

This deal is available from restaurant opening time until closing on Sunday 12 April.

With this deal, little ones can get a Piccolo meal which includes a starter of doughballs, a main meal (of either pizza, pasta or salad), a dessert, a Bambinoccino drink and an activity pack.

To claim the free kids' meal, simply speak to your waiter who will be able to apply the offer to your bill. This offer is available to all customers, including Pizza Express Club members. You can claim one free kids' meal per adult main.

This offer is dine-in only and not available for click & collect or delivery. You can claim it at all Pizza Express restaurants except at airports and Pizza Express Live or Pod locations.

FREE Margherita pizza at Pizza Express

When you wear a black and white striped top

How does a FREE Margherita pizza sound? Or should that be a Margher-free-ta?

If you dine in at a Pizza Express restaurant (find your nearest) on Monday 9 February, you can get a 'classic' Margherita pizza (includes vegan and gluten-free alternatives) totally free when you wear a black and white striped T-shirt or jumper, and show a ‘National Pizza Day’ promotional token.

The tokens will be handed out by staff on a first-come, first-served basis. There will only be 150 tokens given per restaurant (50,000 total pizzas given away). There's no minimum spend required – this is a total freebie provided you wear stripes similar to the restaurant's monochrome aesthetic, and have a token.

The offer is running from restaurant opening time until all free pizzas have been claimed on Monday 9 February only. A Margherita pizza usually costs from £10.95, but this can differ depending on location.

There's no limit to the amount of free pizzas that can be claimed per table, so you can go with a group of friends and all claim a free pizza as long as you all wear black and white stripes. This offer isn't valid at airport locations.

MSE Georgia-May says: If you've a striped top in the back of your wardrobe, then this deal is little effort for a big reward. I reckon this'll be a popular freebie, and as there's a limited number, it might be safest to go for an early lunch to avoid disappointment.

Free protection for all shopping!

There's a little-known piece of legislation that turns any credit card into a financial self-defence superhero. 'Section 75' of the Consumer Credit Act means your plastic must protect anything you buy for more than £100 for free, so if there's a problem or the company goes bust, you can still get your money back.
And although Section 75 doesn't apply to debit cards, there is something else to fall back on if you've paid using a debit card, or used a credit card for a purchase under £100. Known as Chargeback, this is part of banks' and card companies' internal rules and not a legal requirement. Read full details of Section 75 or Chargeback, plus how to claim, in our guides.
